I went to zango.com to watch a television show and stupidly, very very stupidly, I let it download something so I could watch the show. Apparently it was a virus. I don’t know why the AVG anti-virus software I have didn’t detect this, but it happened.

Now I tried to run Search and Destroy on it and it detected 16 bad files and deleted them, but it’s not gone. I tried to remove Zango from my programs, but it simply freezes my computer.

Every time I try to download anti-virus software from the internet, it won’t let me open it because of some kind of untrue error or it brings me to a porn site!!!

Also, in the lower right hand corner where my time is displayed, it also says "VIRUS ALERT!"

Please, someone, please help me get rid of this thing. Please help me!!!

Find where the files are. And write down the location, start windows in safe mode and try to delete them mauanlly, if you have a network start windows in safe mode with network support and use another computer so scan the virus in your computer

I stay in student accomodation and the internet access won’t allow for the use of peer 2 peer or torrent software. are there any alternatives to find television series and anime, such as websites?

my roommate watched television on the internet all the time. I wanted to watch a sermon last night and it kept stopping and the voice specially stopped and I didn’t enjoy or got it. Same thing happens when I watch youtube.
we both are using wireless high speed internet.
But, she has HP lap top I have Fujitsu. what should I do to be able to watch T.V. shows on internet? do I need more memory? do I need to install some software? Thanks in advance.

It can be many things

a) You share the bandwidth, so when both of you watch,maybe there is not enough
b) Server differ; some are more powerful than others. It may have nothing to do with your PC
c) It could be that she has a more powerful laptop (faster CPU, more memory, etc.)

In short no. IMO it’s down to the way it’s taught in schools, the curriculem needs to be overhauled. We spend 13 years learnign the language and only a handful come out fluent speakers and they are the ones with a natural talent and passion for the language wheras in other countires they teach their kids English and they’re fluent by the time they’re finishing primary school. It’s a waste of time, money and effort and at the minute trying to keep it alive.

Nothing has changed in terms of hardware or software between today and yesterday. I have 3 Mbps dsl as hosted by TDS telecom through a server in my hometown of Athens, Maine. However, yesterday, I was downloading at speeds around 250kbps or so, and could easily stream television shows. Today, my download rate is around 2-20kbps (curiously enough, my upload rate is around 50kbps today–not precisely sure what it was before, but probaly not much higher than that)

So what could be wrong with my system, or is this an external problem that will get fixed by my isp? What can I do to fix it if it is my problem?

I’m running Windows 7 on a fairly new desktop.

I plan on contacting them if the problem doesn’t resolve itself in a day or two. I’m just wondering if this is probably (or at least plausibly) an external problem beyond my control.

just call your isp, they are the ones that provide you with internet so they are able to anwser better then anyone on here.

Wouldn’t this be easier to navigate? This way, each category would get more traffic, so each question might get more answers. And Polls and Surveys would be it’s own category because it’s so popular!

I would like to get an episode of Scarecrow & Mrs. King (an old 80′s television drama not available on DVD) off of Veoh.com where someone has posted some of the episodes. How can I take the episodes off of Veoh and save it to my computer’s hard drive so I can burn the video onto a DVD? Please include any information you have, including and software I may need and where I can get it from. Thanks so much. I would buy it if the the owners of the show would release it onto DVD, but they said they had no intention of doing that.
