I have a TV tuner card and I want to know if there is any programs that records shows and stops reoding when commercials come on, then records again when the show comes back on.

It is digital TV.
I am looking for something that is free, if possible

First of all, from my experience, there is NO such an application can record and stop recording automatically, because not a software can detect the turning point of TVshow and AD;

But, if you do not like to record ads, here are two ways:
1. Work out a recording schedule of your recording, start it when it is show, end it while it’s ADs, but that will be complicated, and you shoul work out the excatly time of ads,
2. Record all of them, it’s a matter of disk storage, if you really do not like the ads, cut and modify your Record with WMM,

I just got a new Apple laptop and would like to see if anyone knows of a good satellite tv software that I can use? It has to work on my MAC and be free or not cost too much at least. I don’t mind paying so long as it works well.

Um.. depends on what you mean. Your saying software not hardware, so I’m assuming you don’t mean a TV tuner for your TV (i.e. something to plug you cable into your computer, for that you need hardware). If so however, it is both safe and generally reliable.

If you mean some sort of TV off the internet service, then there’s no likely reason it wouldn’t be safe. However the very nature of the internet would make it probably a little less reliable then regular TV.

Either way, the 1000s of channels thing would depend on your service.

Could you be more specific about what kind of "TV on PC" thing your talking about?

Everything sounds to good to be true, so I need some guidance here. Is there anyone that had purchased one of these software?

I love soccer, and that’s the main reason for me to even consider of doing this. All cable and satellite providers are placing the soccer channels (FSC & GOLTV) in their highest priced packages making it impossible for me to watch my favorite teams.

I have this software on my laptop and it’s pretty good. I bought the $50 Satellite TV for PC Elite and I watch alot of motor sports with it.
Sometimes my internet is slow and renders it useless for a while but what do expect for $50.

I am looking to watch all the regular channels online in good high def. Not the free stuff like justin tv. Thats bad quality and never a guarantee. Im hearing mixed reviews on this. Also, anyone have any suggestions to watch tv online from home in all HD?
