I have this pc from someone and don’t know what model of tv tuner it has. How can I find what model it has , is there any software that can tell me what driver I need to install?

Open the case and look at the card, It will have the information printed on the PCB or CMOS chips.

Learn how to edit the registry. This might come in handy if you get a virus or something. Learn a programming language. I suggest Java but c++ is also good. If you have a little bit of money($500+), build a computer from scratch.

CradlePoint and WRT54G?

I have a problem I seem to not be able to find the answer to. Here is my issue…
I have a Cradlepoint that we use for internet access(we live in the sticks). All 4 computers are connected to that. I also have a xbox 360 I would like to connect to it. I want to set the wrt54g by the tv and connect the 360 to it and also a media center pc i am putting together. So I need the wrt54g to take the cradlepoint’s signal and pass it to the 360 and pc.? both of which will be connected via network cable
I forgot to mention the important part. I need the connection between them to be wireless. The cradlepoint is mounted 50 ft away so i could get a good signal. Is there a way for the wrt54g to receive the signal and then pass it onto one of the network ports?

Unplug one of the computers from the Cradlepoint. Plug an ethernet cable into the port you just disconnected from, and plug the other end into the #1 LAN port (must use #1 port for this connection) on the Linksys (not WAN!). Plug the computer you just disconnected into another of the Linksys LAN ports. Connect the Xbox and the media center into the other 2 LAN ports. Leave the WAN port on the Linksys open. You’re basically using the Linksys as a managed switch to attach extra devices to an existing router (Cradlepoint). You could do the same thing with a less expensive 8-port switch and just plug everything into it.

how can I watch Netflix via Internet Explorer and my Blu ray on my tv?

I want to use my streamlining capable Sony Blu ray player to watch my Netflix on my flat screen tv. I have Internet Explorer available. The computer is located at least 50 feet from the tv.

What they mean by streaming is that you can temporarily transfer (stream) data from you computer or network to your TV. That may include movies, pictures and/or music. That does not include Netflix. If however your TV/blu-ray player is internet capable you may have a Netflix option available to you, assuming you already have an account with them. Consult your user manual or contact your manufacturer to find our (since you did not list any model numbers)

What is the best equipment I should get in order to create a media center?

I want to create a Media Centre in my living room — would like some help with respect to what PC + other equipment I should buy and what types of software I should use in order to create a cool media center (e.g. to watch/record TV, browse internet, listen to music, look at photos etc)

If you are interested in non-Windows solution, I would definitely recommend MythTV on Linux with a Hauppauge PVR250/350 TV tuner card. It is very powerful and comes with all the features you want and more. It requires some time to set up but once you do, believe me, its worth it.

I m searching the Live internet TV channel software from the net , I searched the TV software from the net 1 is sky downloader , 2nd is ANYTV and 3rd is webTV ,

I have broadband connection I have used these software but i could not satisfied because every software have difficulties, like Channel missing , stream not found and also user interface problem ,

Not unless you want to connect it to your existing cable or satellite and secondly, a TV tuner is absolutely pointless since you have to tune with a cable or sat TV box to begin with.

I purchased the software a couple of days ago with no great expectations as it is cheap and promises the world. I can’t help wondering if I’m missing something because Live TV On PC is so lame it’s not to be believed. They regurgitate Hulu and many BBC channels that are not accessible and Youtube! among other pathetic offerings.
Can anyone enlighten me? I do not mean to be sarcastic here because I do miss a lot!

It’s a scam. That’s all there is. It aggregates TV feeds that are free to anyone.
