i recently bought a new tv tuner and and it has a s-video output.. i plugged it to my tv ran the software.i see is static.. from my pc and my tv but when i play the movie file my computer plays it but my tv doesnt .. what should i do? video card doesnt have a s-video output.. so i bought a tv tuner.. but still doesnt work.. did i but the correct thing?
Is your tv an lcd screen? Alot of LCDs have a VGA input, like the one you plug into your computer monitor. It should be blue probably and shaped like a trapezoid. I doubt that your computer can out put video through s video, besides the VGA can output hd and is better than s video..
When you but the video card, there should be a disk that came with it that contain the drivers and stuff, if you install that cd there should be a control panel for your video card after you install it. try to right click anywhere on your desktop and see if there is an option for your video card, if yes click on it, there should be options where you can set the display to clone or extend. another way is to go to the display properties and click on the setting tab then choose advance, there should be a windows popup with some tabs, one of the is the tab for your video card, click on it to open the video card control panel.
